Dreamy Birthday Tip #1: Dream BIG

Start by dreaming up what your perfect birthday party would look and feel like! What are some places that you love that inspire you? What color palette speaks to you? Do you want to dress up fancy or have a theme? Create an inspirational Design Concept Board.

When dreaming up my own 40th Birthday party design, I thought of pretty places where I would love to host it, like an outdoor patio, barn…the types of architecture I like, including brick and a rustic feel with barn wood, as well as flowers and greenery. I also pulled inspiration from party planners that I am obsessed with, including J29 Events. The cake was a focal point as well that I wanted to be simple, pretty, and yummy of course!

Dreamy Birthday Tip #2: Start planning the deets, spread the word, and find some amazing help

After coming up with the Design Concept Board I started to search for locations to host my Dreamy party. I found Tendue, which is a beautiful Parisian-inspired event space with its tile flooring, molding and big windows. The space is intimate and has a collection of furniture and place settings that perfectly fit the look of the party that I was going for.

I created invitations that fit the theme and spread the word.

As an Interior Designer, I was able to design the layout of the room and tablescape designs for the party. Since I knew I didn’t want to be running around crazy before the big party setting up, I was lucky enough to find help to bring my design vision to life! To help with the set-up, I created Design Boards on how each vignette would be set-up.
