SECRETS TO CREATING A BEAUTIFUL VIGNETTE | ACCESSORIZING DESIGN TIPS
Cozy~in~Love Spaces is divulging the "how-to" to create a stunning vignette of your own, as well as revealing all the details of the Marlowe and Anders vignettes...
Have a sideboard, console table, or cabinet but not sure how to style it? Here are our top 5 professional designer tips on creating a stunning vignette.
Tip #1: Determine the focal point of the vignette. The focal point can be a piece of artwork, mirror or significantly large accessory that may be of meaning to you. In the Anders Vignette above, the focal point was the large abstract canvas artwork.
Tip #2: Layer accessories and provide interest by differing the heights of objects in the vignette. You can achieve this with a table lamp, such as the Anders rustic lamp or the Marlowe Ceramic Pitcher. Also, stack books and objects on top of one another or inside of each other with a basket or tray.
Tip #3: Add some greenery or a beautiful bouquet. Fresh flowers or stems bring the outside in and are always a welcome addition to a vignette.
Tip #4: Mix metals and textures of objects within your vignette. We love using baskets, beads, crystals, marble bookends, vintage books, and distressed vases and objects to mix things up! Being eclectic with your design brings a feeling of casual and cozy to it and makes it "less cold" (and boring!).
Tip #5: Don't worry about being perfect! Play with placement and what "feels" and "looks" right with your vignette. Personally, when styling, I have to arrange everything, take a step back to see it all at once and determine what might need to shift slightly. Taking a photo also helps to edit the vignette. Finally, if in doubt...call in the professional designer (hint, hint)!
